Renewable Energy Nodes

Renewable energy nodes are important for reduction of GHG emissions. The rationale behind locating datacenters near renewable energy sources is that moving the power to computing resources is less efficient than moving the computing resources close to the energy sources.

1. Geographic Network Sites

The renewable energy nodes will be deployed at project partner locations across Canada, connected by the CANARIE network. Additional nodes will be located in Ireland, Belgium and Spain.

2. Detailed Network Diagram

The Core GSN Network will initially be only nation wide and will scale out to international partners throughout the duration of the project.

Figure 8, above, shows the core GreenStar Network. Figure, below, shows the GreenStar Network extended to include the international Virtual Organization.
